Hi, i'm interested in either the Glock 17 RTF or whenever it arrives the 4th Gen. What's the best price for either? Yes I have seen all the threads on the best price on Glocks but most places do not have the 17 RTF and if they do it's $699+ (which i'm hoping is not the best price). Thanks in advance. Cedric

I spoke to someone at police ordnance and they stated the generation 4's wont be availble until april or may in Canada. As it turns out Glock is not making or selling 10 round magazines yet for it. Aparently older mags will not work right with Generation 4.

Just watched a video from SHOT and the Glock rep. said that the 3rd gen mags will work fine in the new pistol unless you set up the mag release on the right (left handed shooter) side of the pistol.
In that case it (the mag) does not have the cut out and therefore won't work.

That is interesting cause this is the email I got back from Brian at Police Ordnance.

Hello Jorg,

Thank you for your interest in GLOCK products. We have a shipment of Generation 4 GLOCK 22 Pistols clearing Customs as I type this message. These are however the Law Enforcement model with High Capacity Magazines.

We expect to receive the G-17 Gen 4 Pistols any time however these will also have high capacity Magazines.

GLOCK has advised us they will not be producing 10 round Generation 4 Magazines until the end of March or April. They will then begin filling orders for 10 Round Commercial Magazines.

Until we actually receive paperwork with Serial Numbers; it is impossibe to predict when these will be available in Canada.

The first dealers to get Generation 4 pistols are the GLOCK Stocking Dealers listed on our Web Site. This list is updated so please check from time to time. You may wish to pre order a Gen 4 Pistol from one of the dealers so you are sure to get one.

We are setting GLOCK events at the Stocking Dealers and we will be showing customers the GLOCK Generation 4 Pistols.

Please contact Ed Morgis at Ed.Morgis@PoliceOrdnance.Com for the schedule.

These events will be the best venue to see all of the GLOCK products including the Generation 4 Pistols.

That is just a G22 with RTF Frame, The New Gen4 Glocks have gone back to the old slide serrations.

Get them to sell you one without the mags. If you are right handed and they work with 3rd gen or older mags who cares. 10 round 3rd gen and older mags are a dime a dozen.
 
Ok. I just got to the bottom of it. The Gen 4 pistols have now arrived, however, they only come with 14 round high cap magazines right now. The 10 round magazines will be available in 2-3 months. The Gen 4 guns will come standard with 3 mags. If you buy the gun now you will not get any magazines with it and will have to use your old G22 mags (assuming you are using them on the Gen 4 setup for right handed shooters) and then wait for the Gen 4 10 round magazines when they become available. Police Ordnance will ship the magazines to you separately. Just as a side note, in order to buy directly from Police Ordnance you have to be eligible for the Glock Individual Officer Program as they are a wholesaler and do not sell to the general public.
 
One other clarification. Police Ordnance does sell previously owned police department firearms to licenced general public customers. You just can't buy brand new guns directly from them.
 
I bought mine without mags. They will ship the Gen 4 mags seperately when they get them in. In the meantime, the older G22 mags will work fine as long as your mag release is setup for right hand use. Hopefully all the paper work will be done next week and I can take her out to the range.
