I'm just looking for a quick confirmation on something. As I understand it, pistols need to have a barrel length of 4.2" to be considered restricted and not prohibited? I looked at the CFC's definition of a restricted firearm and it seemed to talk more about semi auto rifles, and their total length etc.
The reason why i'm asking is that I am interested in the CZ-P-07, and I have seen pictures of it without any barrel protruding beyond the slide. I recently handled one at DVC Ventures and it had a little bit of barrel poking out in front of the slide. I'm guessing that extra bit of barrel is there to keep the pistol from becoming a 12(6) affair. Is that correct? I've seen them listed as 4.2" barrels at one place and 4.18" at another (epps for example).
Basically, I want to confirm that the P-07s without the extra barrel are not available in canada or are prohibs. Can someone shed some light?
Thanks.
Pat
