Hey there!

I've noticed with the Milsurp rifles that when people are selling them, some are listed as restricted (M1 Grande) where some aren't...

Whats the rule for this?

Thanks

- U.S. Rifle M-1 Garand cal. 30-06 is Non-Restricted

- U.S. M-1 Carbine cal. 30 M1 with military original issue 18" barrel is Restricted

Yup I read through the RCMP lit. I assumed there were exception for old rifles.

The only exceptions made are for the Garand to have an 8 round capacity because of its unique en bloc clip system and the Enfield mags to have a 10 round capacity because there were some experimental semi/full auto rifles made that took the Enfield mag. Otherwise, age makes no difference.

Technically, as the LE is a bolter, there does not need to be any exception given.

The late Dave Tomlinson, former NFA prez. pointed out to the CFC dudes that there were some goofy FA training guns built that took the LE mag, as you said. DAT pointed this out to them just to force them to go back and re-write a portion of the law, but as the mag was DESIGNED for a bolter, it is fine in any size capacity.
