.416 guys step up...

On a side note Winchester has just reintroduced the new M70 Safari Classic in 375 H&H, 416 Rem Mag and 458 Win Mag for about $1300, should be a great gun to look into for a big boomer, CRF and all.

I would have made this a poll but cant figure out how to do it. From bouncing around all the forums in here I couldnt find a answer and right now left is rirht, right is upside down...etc etc..

So...which .416 do you prefer? Currently I have a Rigby but might be swayed into a remington just for the s**ts and giggles factor...

Seems like a good debate for a snowy saturday morning...

If you decide to go the Taylor route I have a pile of brass and some loaded ammo with your name on it. FS

416 is a great caliber.

I got a Rigby just because of it's history and I like the case design.

I load full house 400 grain Nosler partition loads, paper patched cast bullets with Blue Dot and lots in between.

My CZ 550 in 416 Rigby will hold 4 in the magazine and one in the chamber.
I've mounted a Zeiss 2 - 8 Conquest since this photo:

So my rigby needs a little brother so if I buy the brass off ya are you gonna throw in a .416 taylor rifle? Dont worry it doesnt have to be perfect as I have all winter to work on it and make it a purttyyyyyy....:D..Little rub here...little scrub there....:dancingbanana:

My 458 Lott is based on a Brno zkk602 action. It is a pleasure to shoot, reload, and carry. I now have a spare barrel for my 375H&H if I ever want to cut it down to 20 inches and run with the 375 Ruger crowd.:)

I had a pair of 458 WM's, the Brno ZKK 602 and a model 70 Winchester Super Express. Kept the model 70. The Brno had the length for conversion to 458 Lott but in 458 WM, overall, I like the Winchester better.

Sooooo... who has tried cast gas checked bullets in these thumpin' .416's?
What worked well, what didn't? Kinda curious-mould on the way.

My mold is a 350 grain RCBS. Using 55 grains of 5744 it will put out over 2150 fp with next to nothing for recoil. Same with the 350 Speer Magtips. There may be a lesson to be learned there, but I refuse to learn it.
