Norinco M-14 question

I listened to Hungry. I bought two 2007 Norcs.

As a result my #### has not fallen off, I have two rifles that I love with a depraved unholy passion, I've learned a whole hell of a lot about them, shot them lots, got into reloading (which is a whole other major psychotic obsess, er, hobby in its own right) as a result of the ammo bill, dropped a wad on accessories, greatly improved my shooting skills, and have had a heck of a lot of fun with them. And I'm seriously considering buying one of the shorty Italian M-14's Marstar is going to bring in.

Don't buy two; buy three. They're all the fun of a 10/22, but thirty times boomier.

Every time there is a question about the Chinese M14, Barney always says "don't buy one, buy two!". I think Barney is on Norinco's payroll in their sales department. Either way, how can you not buy two if the sales pitch is "buy two or your d#$k will fall off". How can you not buy two or more to ensure your privates intact??

Back to the original question, Rubicon, don't get one, get two or you'll regret that. They are fantastic out of the box and can be made even better with some mods. :dancingbanana: Tons of people shooting them, not one "kaboom" as a result of rifle malfunction....there was as a result of bad handloading. You can search that in this forum.
Happy shooting! :ar15:

I wish I was on the Norc payroll :D LOL

Frankly, I have had so much fun working on my M14's and M1 Garands over the past 27 (holy shzt, I'm getting old) that I have to spread the fun around. Especially in the context of all the incoming (read: cheap and available) M14's around. Yeah, I have a Garand also but the M14 is a fantastic blaster (gong targets). I love tweaked battle rifles!

I'm just glad as hell that you are all enjoying your M14 rifles out there! Why? Because we can. I'm tired of naysayers and their doom and gloom about :ar15: what may happen in the future. At least NOW, we CAN own and shoot them, so let's focus on that! Anyways, enough hijacking and back to the thread. :D

Yes buy one, but you won't be stopping there!

The more of us that have them, the harder it's going to be for them to ban them, too.

Shoot a bone stock Norinco with some decent ammo and you will be pleasantly surprised how well they shoot. As Barney often likes to joke, there's all kinds of expensive mods you are supposed to have to make (USGI TRW makeover) otherwise your #### will fall off, but the reality is all that stuff has diminishing returns. Shoot, practice, enoy.

Agreed. Especially now that we are somewhat more organized. However I don't for a second doubt that mil. style semis and handguns are still on top of the "things to ban ASAP when re-elected" pile at Liberal Party HQ.

So we just have to point out the following figures for them:

13.8 million votes cast in the last election.

1.8 million licensed gun owners, all of who can vote, plus all the CUFOA types, etc, make a bloc of voters equivalent to 15%, give or take, of this figure

Margin of victory by the Conservatives over the Liberals: 6.04%

They can't afford to piss us off anymore.

anyone hunt with a norinco m14? Im going moose hunting in the fall, will one of those guns do the job? thanks

Hungry here: YES, and shot placement has a lot to do with the 150/ 165/ 180 gr. bullet's ability to bring the moose down humanely! :D

I hear that, and its all because of you and M14 doctor.

I spent most of the day yesterday playing with my Marstar 2007.
Took the flash hider off using the Hungry method and flipped the cylinder lock around. With a bit of stoning I got it to hand tighten up at 6 o’clock.

Drilled out the stock and put Fabsports cheek riser on and mounted the Sadlak Airborne scope mount I got from Brownells.

Waiting for my Bushnell 3200 scope from Frontier and the NcStar 2.5-10 P4 sniper scope from Marstar to show up so I can determine which height ARMS 22 throw lever rings to buy. Looks like their 0.30” low rings will work fine.

I was thinking all day yesterday that I’m an idiot, I should have bought two of these rifles :D

I followed Hungry's advice a while back and bought one, then two....then another one, followed by another one....dam things keep following me home.....Funny how that happens....easier to hide from spousal unit than trucks bikes and ATV's!

:agree:

Spousal unit...lol:D

workin' on #5...

Whenever possible... I've taken mine many times. Though I've yet to kill an animal with it. It seems I only get lucky when I'm packin my no1mk3 enfield LOL
The m14/m1a is a fine rifle in a calibre suited to most deer, black bear and varmint (coyote n gophers :D ) and within 200 yrds withe right bullet and shot placement add moose and elk to the menu

New M-14s?

I see from digging around on the posts that Marstar may be coming into some Italian (Beretta?) M-14s. I'm not sure who will be manufacturing them for Marstar, but I've seen some pics on the net of "Italian" M-14s... Very nice! I see they have been harassing Johnone pretty hard about it, so I don't want to pester him about a subject he has been hit so often about. Does anybody have any info about them? ETA, price, etc. I'm almost ready to pay now!

I was hoping we would see the new italian offering by now.
The wait is buggin me so bad I had to make another purchase.... So, today I dialed up my importer and added an LRB M25 receiver to the order ;)
