I am looking for something to replace the Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40 that I'm using now. I'm not looking to spend a fortune, just trying to get something a little better... trying to keep it under $300 (plus tax). There are 3 that I am interested in, but maybe they are not good choices...I'd like some input.

The main ones I am looking at are: Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40, Leupold VX-1 3-9x40, Redfield Revolution 3-9x50.

I can get a Bushnell product at a discount because I have a buddy that gets a good employee discount where he works...that's a good selling point lol, but at the same time I know anything from Leupold is generally pretty hard to beat in it's price range. At the price I'm looking to pay, I like the 50mm objective of Redield, and there's just something about them that I like the looks of. What would you get ?

I have a Buschnell elite 3200 and it has worked flawlessly. For the price, I couldnt be happier. You should keep an eye out on the Equipment Exchange Optics section. Scopes you are looking for are there almost daily for a great price.

i would spend the extra money and get a vx11 3 to 9 x40.last a lifetime .

I would go with the Bushnell Elite 3200, great scope and Rainguard really works. Had 2 Burris not happy with them

I have both the 3200 and the Burris FF II. I keep the 3200 on one of my deer rifle due to the "Rainguard" which I like a lot, and when its not raining I use my Burris. I find the optics to be clearer on the Burris during the early morning and late afternoon hunts when the light is dimming.

What is it you are not Happy with on your Burris??

I have felt that for a number of years now that the 3-9 in 3200 was the best buy for your money in Canada, I think P&D and WSS have them for around $240.00 . FS

I think I'll find out what kind of a deal I can get on the Bushnell tomorrow...I have a good friend that works at a place that sells Bushnell scopes... the price on it is $239 I think, but I can get my buddy to get it for me... he can get anything in the store at cost plus 10%.

Bushnell 3200 is marginally better than the trophy, save your money it's not going to make you a better shot, a tasco is a tasco is a tasco.

Keep it until breaks, then go buy yourself a quality scope w/ nice glass like a VX111.

My 2 cents:
I'm happy with my 3200 3x9x40 w. Rainguard (works well) and "Fast Focus" and it is in your price range. Clarity is very good. It is on my 30-06 and I am able to shoot 1/2 to 1/4 MOA at 100yds.

Now if you had the extra bucks then Leupold VXll 3x9x40 would be a good choice but it is a couple hundred bucks more than the 3200. I opted for the LRD (long range duplex) and it is on my 25-06. Great clarity. Again I can shoot touching holes at 100yds.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I got a friend of mine to get me the Bushnell today. I got the scope and a pair of silver weaver 2-piece rings for $260 tax included. I don't know if it's the best of the scopes I was considering, but it's clearer than the Bushnell Trophy I had, and it does have a fair bit more eye relief.

Good choice. You won't be sorry.

I have a vortex diamondback and it isn't too bad. on par with my elite3200 but if your buddy can get you a deal check out the 4200. My 4200 is wayyy better and a 3-9x40 might come in around just over your $300 limit.
