tikka t3 recoil

Hey ppl I was looking at picking up a tikka t3 in the 7mm-08 and was wondering how much of a difference in recoil between the 7mm-08 and the 7mm mag

Lots!!

7mm-08 about 14 ftlbs or recoil

7mm Rem Mag about 21 ftlbs of recoil

Pad

It's the difference between the standard recoil pad and a GOOD aftermarket pad.

After a few load workup sessions with mine in 338 Win Mag, it didn't take long to get a different pad installed.

Much nicer to shoot now.

Oh forgot to mention that the "normal" threashold for recoil tolerance is just around 14-16lbs of recoil. 7mm-08 should be nice and easy to shoot offhand, 7mm RM will take some practice to avoid a flinch.

Sounds like there must be a scale source for recoil produced by caliber. Can one of you guys point me to it?? I'd like to have that information handy.

my tikka i had in 270 wsm kicked like a bastard, i now have a 7mm 08 which barely kicks, i dont think u will need to change the pad on the tikka, even being a hockey puck pad to start it should be fine for the 7mm 08,
