x39...should I buy more...?

There is a really great price out there right now for 7.62x39 and I am wondering if I should get another case. I am currently into 1 case by 200rds, and I still have another sealed case to crack, so should I get another??

Does this stuff run out like x54r .303 and x51 etc? As long as the AK is used, this ammo should be readily available no? I figure .223 is also cheaper than most because it is widely used too.

This is just between you guys and I, so don't mention I asked to my wife!!
 
The surplus stuff will run out at some point I think.

I remember reading that on the forums in the last few months. I don't think they are making any more, and may countries don't sell surplus ammo anymore thanks to our friends at the UN etc.
 
Ammunition, especially military rounds, will slowly increase in price as surplus is used up.

We will never again see an arms build up the likes of the Cold War days. That's what we are buying. Just like surplus .303 and .30-06, the x39 will disappear.
 
Johnone himself has plainly stated that his stash of x39 is quickly drying up, and obtaining more of the stuff is virtually impossible due to the 2 shooting wars currently going on in the middle east.

Unless we go through another war, which IMO is more than likely given the current climate (not the weather) of the world and the direction it is heading in. Won't start tommorow... but it's coming. The number of guns that are chambered in x39 is huge... It'll be back.

The x39 is the most popular centerfire round in the world period. This round and the rifles that use them will long out last us and most likely our childern.

The issue at hand is the continued availability of cheap surplus, not the availability of the ammo in some form.

If the only 7.62x39 available was $16 a box Prvi, how many SKSs and Vzs do you think would get a lot of use?

CanAm did mention something about Barnaul being available this summer, but it certainly won't be cheap like the Czech stuff.
