Have you seen these? Your thoughts? They look ok, anyone with experience with them?

You are correct, they are at the local shop for $689.99 Hopefully someone will chime in that has shot one.

played with one the other day..the grips look like they come off some kids toy ,,very crappy and the hammer clicks feel worse than a old rusty ratchet ..the slide was nice and the magazine was ok too.. norinco is a way better buy in my mind

I handled the one at the local shop you speak of.

My .02...

1. For an econo 1911A1 I'd get the Armco [site sponsor] tuned Norc pistol over it.

2. If it was a GI model clone specifically one was after for not too much more money the Auto Ord GI model is nicer.

I'm sure it will finds it's niche as a basic entry level 1911A1, though. It will be interesting to see if it can stand up to a few hundred rounds of hardball ammo down the pipe.

$699.00 plus tax?

a STI Spartan, lightly used will cost you the same or less, and is a way better gun im my opinion...

Seen them. Wasn't impressed. The demo trigger was about 15 lbs and like the rusty ratchet described. I thought, if this is the demo model, and it feels like this... I know nothing more on them than that. It was a TISAS demo.

CGN site sponsor Frontier Firearms has 'em for $599.95. The PST savings alone for a BC buyer would more than pay for the shipping. Not to mention the $90 saved from the get-go.

There's more info and opinions in this thread from earlier this week: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=442871

But personally, I wasn't terribly impressed with the ones that I saw. Nice enough for a budget 1911, but not worth twice (or so) the price of a Norinco. Maybe in the US where there are no new Norincos these are a good value. But I think they will be a bit of a flop up here where you can get a Norc for half the price and even an Armco tuned Norc for way less than these sell for...
