Pinning semi-auto shotgun magazine.

My great uncle recently passed away, and he had a collection of 20 firearms.

My family and I are wondering about how to pin the magazine on a Benelli M1 Tactical. He apparently had no clue any law had changed. Do I just weld a rod to the tube?

I would like to get this done before I go to register it.

IMO this is the most sensible solution:
I would make a plug out of aluminum and thread a hole in one end. I would then drill a hole in the end of the mag extension and put a bolt into the plug. I would locktite this so it wouldn't come undone. To do a really good job, instead of a bolt use a sling swivel mount.

It's allowed to hold five in the mag.+1 in the barrel +might be able to float one on the feed ramp.

If it holds more than five IN the mag, then I would do what I talked about in the above link. Pretty easy to do, I'd use aluminum rod, lighter and easy to drill and tap.
