858 0r sks?

CZ 58 it's like a crown jewel over AK47:

short stroke gas system
independent gas piston
machined fullmetal block receiver
open top easier clearance of FTE
mags with last round hold open
a lot lighter than an AK47
easy access safety sellector
easy access mag release
 
a little off topic but anyone have any suggestions on the best way to clean your rifle after using corrosive ammo? (barrel and action)
 
Same as cleaning any firearm. Just do it more often. The corrosive ammo shouldn't be a problem if you clean your rifle after every use. Only takes a few minutes to wipe it down and lube it up.
 
yeah eh
some have said hot water ,windex and other things
i just use oil and so far have not found any corrosion
but i chean the f*%k outta it

Hey, are you still there? I haven't seen your post in response to me answering your question. Could you explain why the AK is superior to the VZ?

Have you shot an AK. CZ and VZ is not even comparable in durability. Ask us soldiers why they drop their gun and grab AK in the war zone? Because it works in any condition. If it was not superior why is it made for 50+ years. Russian did not wanted to give Chech Republic the right to produce it. So they made new receiver not similar to AK47

i don't know of any soldiers that would drop their primary weapon (except in desperation) and grab an AK.

the AK is just stamped steel. super simple and cheap to build. few machining operations. that is why there are so many of them, and why they are still making them by hand in packistan.

PS get the 858 and an SKS. by a couple of crates and see which one you like.

I have never heard that, im in America and talk to soldiers, all prefer the weapon they trained on, have ammo for, have optics for, have an armory for repair for, Picking up an AK in the field makes about as much sense as brown toilet paper. And that is a ar15 vs ak47 debate, since when do us soldiers use the Vz58? And the vz.is not young either.
 
It sounds like some ones home sick. Each rifle design has there advantage's & dis-advantage's. Me personally I enjoy the small thing's like a bolt holding open on the last shot but not to say that the ak center mag release is not nice either. Now having a stamped receiver does suck but the bolt & bolt carrier mechanism on the VZ definitely has to many moving part's to lead to any extended reliability. Some like there coffee and some like expresso. It all depends on you. Me personaly VZ 58 :rockOn: due to three advantages that it has over it's sister design.
1) Lighter in overall wieght.
2) More accurate by design.
3) I can shoot it.
