winchester mod 25

Modified choke or more open. No steel larger than #2. It has worked for me in old Winchester proofed steel barrels. ie: model 25, 12 and 97. Some will disagree and I respect that. I base my opinion on practical experience. Oh ya 2 3/4" ONLY.

shoot it what good is a firearm that you can't use???
If it blows the choke out so be it . I doubt you will shoot enough steel to hurt these old girls.
I use steel in my old winchester's but like the previous post states this is my own experience.
 
Older Winchester proof steel barrels are not steel compatable. M25's are not too popular and priced accordingly. If the gun is anything but new in box I would think you could have the fixed choke opened up to a IC or light modified and run steel through it...but still not reccomended by the experts!
