I was wondering if someone could direct me to a canadian website that sells detachable magazines for the SKS rifle. I am looking for either a 5/20 or a 5/30 detachable.

If this can not be found, would it be illegal to import a 30 round mag from the states and pin it my self?

thanks!

not bad. so i could just cross the border, buy one, pin it then come back to canada?

Unfortunately no, you cannot do this. It would be legal according to Canada, but it is illegal to export firearm parts (including mags) from America without an export license.

SKS-D magazines = Detachable SKS magazines = AK47 magazines. These are all the same thing.

Unless you are talking about the hinged magazines for the SKS

You can export gun pars from the US without an export liscence as long as the value is less then 200$ (canada, 100$ other country)

Getting an export liscence is easy, getting the retailer to fill out his part is hard.

Are you sure it is $200? Always thought it was $100.00 for us as well? Hopefully I am wrong though!

No, the $100 exception is for the export permit. The exporter must still have an export license. The permit and license are commonly confused.

Basically, you must buy it from a business that is licensed to export. Certain parts under $100 do not need an additional export permit.

The ones from zefarm are garbage... Cheap P.O.S stripper clips wont work.

I have an Extra Red Star fixed 20 round mag if anyone is interested....

To confirm...the SKS-D mags and AK-47 mags are the same and yes we have those in stock...but they do not fit the non-detachable (hinged floor plate) models. The quality and performance of the hybrid mags that have the top SKS metal and bottom AK 47 mags is hit or miss (we don't have any of these in stock and haven't had for several years). Phil.

I stand corrected. But yes I'm sure of the 200$ for canadians. It's on the CFC web site. And I've been told by a few US companies

Edit my appologies it's not on the CFC website but on the Foreign affairs web site.
