I just bought a Swedish Mauser, M94, in very good condition but with wood missing ahead of the barrel band. The bayonet lug and sling buckle are also missing. Everything that's left seems to be original. The barrel is exactly 18" long. There are matching numbers on the bolt, bolt release, mag floor plate, barrel band and the butt plate. The brass butt stock disc has I.27 over No.353. (anyone know what that means). It's a Carl Gustapf stamped 1917 serial No. HK 943xx. Of course it's a 6.5x55.
I have never seen one of these before. Can anyone give me any more info on it? I would also like to know it's approximate value.

Probably about $200. Replacement wood is practically non-existent and if found would go for $300-400 IMO. You'd then end up with a $500-600 mismatched M94.

Sounds like a nice restoration project if you can find the parts. All correct ones can go for up to $1500 U.S. .. ;)
