Is there anything we meare civilians can get our grubby hands on?

I can think of about 10 bolt action .50's we can get. There was that one Browning belt fed semi .50, but other than that I can't bring to mind any precision semi-auto .50 in Canada that we can buy.

I know of a precision semi-auto 20mm we can buy (for 20k) but that's a story for another thread.

The US has an export ban on ALL .50 calibre rifles made there. That is why we can only get euro and cdn made stuff. AI makes a semi .50, and some others (I think) as well. Maybe we can get those here?

RND has a new 50 semi auto. But I guess from the info above it's restricted. I have shot it and will try to post some pictures soon

Semi auto 50's are not restricted in Canada. They are restricted from leaving the US (not just semi's, all 50's) There are some in Canada already and if you can legally get one into Canada it would be legal to own. The hard part is getting it here legally from the US.

In 2007, I talked to accuracy international about purchasing the AS50, in my mind this is the best precision semi automatic 50 cal rifle.

So I am a bit confused here. Every semi auto 50 I have shot or know of, which is a pretty braod spectrum of 50s is about close to being a precision rifle as an M14 is.
Semi auto 50s are fun, but NOT even close to precision rifles.

ATR, aren't AS's resitricted from civilian purchase? Also, can they at least average sub-MOA? ½ MOA maybe?

The AS50 I shot belonged to the US Military. They are not available to the civilian market, at least not at this time.
The 1 I shot seemed only capable of 1 moa, talking with the guys who have use of them on a full time basis, 3/4 moa on good days is very possible.
Like all rifles there are variables, like ammo , weather and shooter.

Seems good enough, but aren't they $20,000.00?

In all fairness, AI only guarantees their AW bolt rifles to be "sub MOA" in their catalogue, so I'm not that surprised.

What's typical of the Nemesis with handloads?

1/2 MOA is what I have found. I have a client in the UK who is getting better than that. He must either have a bang on load or got 1 of the truly great barrels that come along from time to time.
