I got this rifle on principle. Never let a gun out of the immediate family if you can help it. It is a TRG-21 in .308.
I was happy to take the rig, because (quite frankly) I have cabin fever and I am dieing to get out on some cut lines on my rhino this spring for some long distance shooting. The rifle was in extremely good condition or receipt, but something about the factory black combined with the stainless barrel didn't sit aesthetically with me. So I decided I'd make a project out of painting this puppy.
I always liked a Scheme used by Zak Smith for his AI rifles, so I decided to do something similar.
This thread will be a sort of progress marker for me, with notes on the different stages of production. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I am enjoying working with this fine gun.
Final product will see the barrel and sling swivel mount anodized, powder coated or duracoated.
Stage 1: Base Coat, Beige
