SKS from Trade ex pics??

Bubba'd ????? What ????
Polaris, any issues with cosmo oil in the stock ?? Handguard ??

no issues at all ...

just didn't like the rubbery sticky feel of the cheap and non resistant shellack.

The difference is like Day and Night and makes for a much nicer looking rifle.

I decided to remove this more then UGLY shellack stuff, because it is rubbery and sticky to the touch and hides the natural beautiful colour of the wood.

BTW, this rifles are cold war mass products and will never have any great collector value.

yeah, thats what they use to say about the lee enfield when it flooded the civilian population and people couldnt sporterize them fast enuff .

now look at what a non-bubba sells for .

i prefer the feel of natural feel of the shellac .

It is exactly as you mentioned: Preference , and what is so natural about this sticky stuff?

You should notice, that I did not modify the rifle in any way.

All what I did was to enhance the feel and appearance, and I did so with great success!

On another note what do you think the Commies would have used if they would have had basic competence and access to True Oil?????

My Lever purchased laminated stock did not have shellac on it. It's been sprayed with some type of polyurethane or IDK what, perhaps over the original shellac finish - Do laminated stocks usually have shellac on them?

As for the bubba factor; It's your rifle do what you like to it. It will only make mine more valuable down the road. You could purchase a new Norinco for less money and do whatever you like with it, and receive zero flack from 99 percent of collectors out there.

Actually, you did modify the rifle permanently by destroying its original finish. It is your rifle and no one is saying you can't do whatever you want to it, but as previously stated, the same mindset was applied to all of those Enfields back in the day, and now look, they are lucky to get 125$ for one. Might as well cut up the barrel and checker the stock.

I do believe the "Commies" had more then basic competence, look at all the weapons they designed that are being used worldwide to this day. Seems the "sticky stuff" has worked well enough.

or whenever Russia plays Canada. The beauty of it is - I can't lose. Canada wins - great I'm Canadian! Russia wins - great Im from there lol.

It is "Cлава Cоветскому Cоюзу - Slava Sovetskomy Soyuzy" I agree with you I was born in CCCP lived half of my life there, came to Canada and lived half of my life here. So I will be happy with whatever outcome that will happen as long as it is Russia or Canada that takes Gold. One thing for sure I will be in the pub watching it in the big screen TV and I will be with my friends. URAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Same here, 19 years in Canada, 8 years in Russia and 7 years in Ukraine. i got it all covered. I have a 100" projector so no need for a pub lol.

I agree they lasted to this day.
On another note.
His rifle he does what he wants. Reselling value is not an issue for him he just want to play with his toy!
