I'll be shopping soon for my first pistol. I'm looking at either a Beretta 92FS Inox or a Glock 17 or S&W MP9.....Haven't decided yet! Where should I look for the best service / prices in the GTA....I don't mind driving a little distance if I have to. Any advice?

Looking for them at the top where the banners are and I don't see anything....Do you have a link?

They are Target Sports Canada.

Third one down on the left.

They don't have anything listed on their site as of yet, so email them or send a private message through this site. They are in the dealers section

A bit farther away is Ellwood Epps, but they have their stock listed online. Site sponsor, bottom row 3rd from left. (BTW, they are an EVIL store, suck the money right out of your wallet. Take garlic to keep sales people away from you. :D ;) )

There is also Al Simmons in Hamilton.

Target Sports Canada in Gormley...Sorry! didn't look hard
I'll go pay them a visit!

Target Sports are good friendly people.

They have a shooter introduction program where you can pay to try out some of the guns even before you have your licence.

I think you pay $40.00 to use the range guns, and buy the ammo from them to use.

Target Sports. Also Al Flaherty's. Both are site sponsors.

Make sure you call both first to check stock. Last time I was at target they had made in italy Inox and black 92's. Al's may not have the inox in stock. Both should have glocks. Al's won't have the M&P.

If you're interested in Berettas check out a PX4 while you're there.

Some non-sponsor alternatives.. You can Google for both.

Williams Arms in Port Perry
Al Simmons in Hamilton

Generally speaking, if you're looking to try before you buy, Target Sports has a small selection of pistols for rent which you can use at their range. Expect to spend at least $50 just to do so, probably closer to $100.

If you're looking for a wide selection, Ellwood Epps is the way to go. All the others will likely have what you want in, or can order it quickly.

I also recommend Target Sports. My wife and I recently got our first pistols there. Jon couldn't have been more helpful.

Even though there was a delay getting in a Sig 226 for me Jon made it right without even asking.(now if my ltatt would just come in I could be using it instead of just looking at it, lol)

After the service we got there it's very likely I'll buy all my future firearms there(that is if it's possible for them to get what I may want).

Target Sports Canada, they are also very soon to be official glock dealers, the nicest most informative firearms salesman i have ever come across !

In the past couple of months I have bought a couple of guns from epps. Very good stock and great service. It's worth the pilgramage up there. And as a bonus on the way back you can think of a good excuse for your new found toy. "but hun it just jumped into my car. Seriously"

Target Sports is the only decent shop in the GTA. Aslo, check put Ellwood Epps if you're willing to drive up to Orillia.

+1 on Al Flaherty's...I feel they are on the virge of coming out of the closet with their secret restricteds and the more business we send them the better off the GTA gun community is!

I highly recommend both Target and Al Flaherty's as guns shops in general.

Target's prices are slightly on the high side, but they have a good display selection, whereas Al's doesn't display handguns and I am not sure what selection they have, so for a first time buyer who doesn't know exactly what they want, Target is obviously a better choice. I also find the sales staff at Target to be super friendly and approachable (and at least one is super attractive..... LOL).

BTW, I got my 92FS Inox at Target. No problems.

Last time I was at Target Sports ( sunday ) they didn't have any M&P 9's in stock, a few .40's but no 9's. However they have one 92FS in black still available ( last one I believe )
