Im interested in purchasing a complete LaRue Ar, can anyone help me out. Im planning on this being my first and last ar so Im looking to get everything I want and as far as I know it doesn't get much better than Larue. Your input suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I know a couple guys who have Larue complete uppers.. Have NO idea how they got them here though...

LaRue does NOT deal with Canada.

And if you're planning on ordering from here and shipping to the US, you're out of luck as well.
There is only one way to get their stuff up here...

Can't Dave's Sports Shop import you one? It will cost, and will take time, but I can't see why they can't do it. Prophet River might be able to help you as well - they offer importing services, but I don't know if they can buy a gun on your behalf.. Lastly, Questar is an FFL with US presence, and you could probably make arrangements.

Any other sponsor who is also an FFL or has importing/exporting services, that I missed?

Don't wate your time with Dave's. Poor comuntication, told they would know next week and let me know either way, that was about a month and half ago and emails since were ignored.

It's a bit odd that Canadian companies are stocking their stuff. I was on the phone with LaRue last week and they said they absolutely do NOT deal with Canada.

Makes me wonder how LaRue items found their way here

Perhaps bought from a stocking dealer rather than direct from LaRue?

You might see parts sneak their way in here. But a lower that must be registered is a whole 'nother ballgame.

The problem is not exporting the stuff from US to Canada (we have received export permit approvals before)... the problem is LaRue themselves.

Mark LaRue has no interest in selling to Canada or to other dealers for that matter. His only interest (his business model if you will) is to sell his product direct to end users at retail prices.

I have repeatedly spoken to LaRue over the past several years... they have repeatedly declined to sell to us or extend any sort of dealer discount/pricing on any of their product line. I personally went to the LaRue booth again this year at SHOT and was again told "we do not sell to dealers". This had nothing to do with Canada since I was there as a US FFL Dealer and no mention of Canada was even made.

If someone here wants a LaRue rifle all you need to do is buy it from LaRue and have them use our US office as your FFL Transfer Dealer. Questar can handle the export to Canada and all of that for you but we won't deal with the purchase side or with LaRue themselves (that's up to you).

I'm not saying you're wrong, but what's the deal with SKD and Bravo Co. stocking and selling LaRue products? Are they not dealers?

Just curious.

I've pointed this out as well and LaRue just ignores the question. I'm not kidding... I can post copies of their emails saying it in writing too. To say that Mark LaRue's policies have been eradic would be an understatement. Apparently there are a few dealers that he setup a number of years ago that he still supplies... but I've talked to a number of US dealers and distributors who have been given the same responses we have. Even manufacturers who wanted to use his products in some of their rifle packages.

I've offered to place a $20,000 + starting order and was told "no dealer sales"... you figure it out because I've given up. It's just not worth wasting any more of my time or effort on them.

If you're looking for rare, high dollar AR's, don't waste your time with 'boutique' parts assemblers do what Beltfed says - go and get the real thing. If you don't want an LMT, or Colt but you want to spend on something that's rare, top quality and 'investment grade' KAC is it.

what's the thought on the LMT MRP? Is the proprietary rail system with 13 less parts worth the loss of flexibility of future repairs/changes?
