Having seen articles about the pressures of 7.62x51 and .303BR, and knowing the Indians get slagged for using low-tech Third World solutions to First World situations, I was pleased to read the article below. This guy called everyone's bluff. It is too easy to forget that Indians share borders with three populous neighbours who have been belligerant from time to time.

Thanks for the link. Sadly the "Chicken Littles", "It's Dangerous Crowd" or whatever else you want to call them will cling to their positions and not let a few facts get in their way, but we still need to challenge claims like this and force the issue when it arises.

1. Pictures are proof right? Funny how there always seem to be 20 different stories attached to the same pic....

2. I heard it from <insert reputable gunsmith, friend's cousin, etc. here>. Never seems to be first-hand, no names attached (for privacy reasons of course), and no real facts, just conjecture. "He is an experienced reloader so it couldn't be an overload"

3. Chauvinism, racism, ignorance are often involved. If it's Spanish, Italian, Chinese, manufactured in any non-English, non G-8, non-white country, you can be sure it's crap.

4. Gun Folklore is my favourite. Stories from the 1940's get embellished and become "fact". Throw in a name like "Ackley" and it's heresy to speak against it.

Think, pose questions, challenge, assess - or be a sheep.

Same old crap we heard about the Ross. I was shooting my M10 at the range one day and a so called informed shooter comes up to me and says, "If I had known what you were shooting, I would have left the area". I said "what's stopping you", "leave!". I shoot my Ross, my wife has shot my Ross as well as my three children. I can't wait to try the Ishy! ;)
