actually, the 1949 is the rarest .

They have another 49 and another 54 Izzy. Myself I'd have to say an unrefurbed 49 with the spike bayonet is the rarest. Then an unrefurbed 53 Izhevsk is next. The unrefurbed 54 Izzy is probably next on the rareity list.

I'm lucky to live only a half hour from P&S. So there was no problem seeing the guns and picking throught them before buying.

recived my sks yesterday from p&s they appear to be in excellent shape the izhevesk 54 is in excellent shape all matching origional stock,blueing is 98 percent verry nice gun.The 49 is also in excellent shape but has laminated stock an has two referb stamps on it .I originally told Jean i wanted one with a hardwood stock he picked one out for me but i changed my mind at the last minute and ordered the laminated stock wish i had stuck to my origional request. I will post some pics soon
