Removing Stock from SKS - Help

I am at the part of the disassembly where I am trying to get the stock off the receiver. There is a screw on the fore-end of the stock just below the rear sight. Do I need to reef that thing loose in order to get the stock off (it is crazy tight), or is the stock just stuck and I need to put some heat to it? I have watched a bunch of the videos and documents on disassembly, but no where do I see anyone removing or loosening the screw to get the stock out.

Thought I was doing alright until I got to this point.

DONT TOUCH THE SCREW

Make sure you remove the following

-Cleaning rod
-Open Bayo
-Trigger mech
-Mag

If its still tight, then tap it out gently

Tapping it out worked. Thanks for the assistance guys. I just never know how much pressure to use when working with firearms. I am learning though.

Tight is good "means it will shoot better"

I used this guide: Surplus Rifle : SKS 45 Carbine and it proved most helpful.

The "screw" you are describing sounds like the recoil lug and it should NOT be removed unless you know exactly what you are doing.
