I'll be hunting for Grizz this spring in 4-31.

So I got the draw... WTF do I do now? lol I've never hunted grizz before. Any hints, tips, tricks or ideas?

I don't even know what I'm going to do with it if I get one....

Grizz defense isn't necessarily limited to .22cal rimfire and don't walk around with bacon in your back pocket.;)

KDX is right, no bacon in the back pocket......put it on the muzzle of your gun, that way the bear will try to eat off the end, then....pow! Right in the kisser!!!

AFAIK Bacon is best used defensively.....

Talk to Camp Cook, he is one of the resident grizzly experts. He will likely chime in shortly. For sure you gotta buy a bigger better rifle ;)
#### that... .308 will kill anything on this continent.... that said, Amphibious has a .450 guide gun and a .375H&H that I'm sure could be borrowed.

P.S. Amphibs draw was in 7-40 LOLOLOLOL

I might go shoot this thing alone... just because.

Is it just me or does it take a big man to shoot the worlds second largest land carnivore by himself?

Best to have someone else along to witness and call for help while you're getting mauled. :p

on a slightly more serious note, grizzly tags are hard to come by. The bc fish and wildlife are consantly scrutanized by non hunting/ animial rights groups. The fact that in B.C . we are not requred to keep the meat puts us into a TROPHY hunting statistic. Unfortunately if the fish and wildlife caves in to outside pressures, we could very well loose our opertunities to hunt these awsome animials. That would truley be a sad day for all hunters. Take some time planning your hunt. Take a GOOD friend or hunting buddy. Alot of hunters never get the opertunity to do a hunt like this. Get yourself into as good of pshysical shape as you can. When you do get an animial that large down on the ground you will want to have someone there to share the experience with, take pics (lots of pics and post them all right here!:)) ,also you WILL need help after the kill. Just having another set of hands to position the animal for skinning, packing out the hide/skull etc. I often skin the animal out but leave the skull and paws intact. These take some extra time to properly skin out for taxidermy, i normally do it at home in the comfort of my shop. If you have to pack out a bear skull, paws and full hide plus your rifle, day pack etc you need the extra hands. If you can carry all that off of a mountain by your self(with out a heartattack) then maybe sign up for ufc.lol Also while you are skinning it out( not a 10 min job either) you will want an extra set of eyes watching out for his friends. It is easy to loose track of your surroundings while paying attention to the skinning task and be surprised by another bear. My son was luck enough to draw a grizzly tag for this spring as well. We are both very excited about it. Take some time, plan it well and you will have a hunt you will remember till they stick you in the dirt:D:D:D

Cool good for you ,but do your homework practice practice practice might have to be great with the the gun, When I see a buck my little heart does a pitter & patter when I see the fuken bears that broke into my truck and left claw prints in the dash(at least they left finger prints) im going to have a coranary.Watch for the little ones they are usally not far behind and sometimes they dont look small (big ears= cubs) sometimes will stay with mama a coulple years You ovboisly dont want to miss if ya get that once in a liftime shot if ya do
wait till you find someone that cant run as fast as you then pull out the .454 Casull (got one for sale) and diaper up .

better buy some 165gr TSX bullets.................and start your practicing from field positions out to 200 yards max
