Getting some decent groups

I think this is fairly good for a m14. Only thing I have done to it is fit a recoil buffer and a op rod guide

Very nice shooting. Were you using a scope/optical sight?

Yep, Leupold FXII 4x32 on a promag scope mount. Something is dodgy about either the receiver or scope mount geometry as I had to shim it at the stripper clip guide in order to get the scope zeroed without being outside the adjustment range. Still seems to shoot ok though. I will get it seen to properly by a gunsmith when funds permit.

We are severely restricted in the range of parts we can get in nz. Much like canada but we don't have marstar.

Only real complaint is that I have added a rubber but pad and the combination of the longer length of pull and the short tube on the leupold means I am at the outside limit of the eye relief.

I agree that it is pretty good. Four shots into about an inch at 100 is pretty decent, especially if it is "typical" of what you get, and not a cherry-picked best-ever group.

If you shoot five groups, with the same rifle and ammo, and don't make any mistakes while shooting them, chances are that each group is going to be a different size. And one of them will be the largest, and one of them will be the smallest. Now while the smallest one is usually the prettiest one, it is more meaningful to remember and consider all five groups that were fired - in total, they are a lot more representative of how the rifle/ammo is performing, and might be expected to perform when firing a sixth group.
