New SxS ???

Hey guys, I want to pick up a new side by side, but it seams I have to settle for a cheap stoeger, or baikal, or spend $3000 on a weatherby?

I'd like a browning, but can't find one in decent shape.

Any opinions on the stoegers or baikals in 12ga?

Aslo any older models of winchester that are good? maybe I could pick one up, and restore it?

Don't think much of Stoegers and nothing of Baikals. You can hunt around and find an older American made double for a reasonable price. I picked up a Winchester 24 double in 16 gauge recently for $350 and it is a good quality gun, the action looks a little different but it swings and points well for me. No restoration required.

Big Banger was selling a nice 12 Ga Parker Hale SxS 12 Ga Shotgun in the exchange of Shotguns forum, hard to find a better deal than that. A solid well made SxS at a reasonable price !!!!

We've got a nice CZ 12g SxS NIB in stock. Really nice solid gun. However, its not actually made by CZ. Its made in Turkey. This shouldn't be a turn off-many nice, fairly inexpensive guns, are made in Turkey now.

Have a look around for an older Ithaca, I just picked one up and am very very pleased.

Look at the CZ's if they are in your price range. In ON you can get em from shooters choice (kitchener) or Ellwood Epps. I am very pleased with my bobwhite in 28g. Amazing.

I have an old Boito A-680 which I bought used (from a good GunNut here) and it works well enough for a cheap gun. It's made by E.R. Amantino of Brazil and they make them for Stoeger and I've looked at new Stoegers and I'd say they are good enough for the money. But ...

... certainly, if you are going to use it a lot, and you can afford more, it's a good idea to get a better gun. I'm not hung up on newness and warranties, so I reccommend being as patient as you can be and wait, eventually a nicer gun will show up on the used market at a good price and that will be the best value for money.

Since your from Brantford, just go to shooters choice in Waterloo. Only about a 45 min drive from you. Call first, but they should have a CZ in stock. Nice guns, about the same price of a semi-auto Browning.
