I own a small outdoor store in Leduc AB and we are doing our ordering for next hunting season.Have any suggestions on firearms and other products we should carry.

savages and marlins, buck knives, carbon steel, kershaw knives, hornady lever evoloution, federal premium ammunition, bushnells and leopolds (scopes and binos+mounts) good warm waterproof jackets, boots, backpacks, wyoming knifes, leathermans, rope, game cleaning gloves, books on field dressing a butchering, swedish hatchets(wetterlings),wyoming saws, gloves,H&R shotguns (single shot 410. 20 and 12 gauge),a good selection of 22lr and shotshells, too name a few things that most everyone uses for hunting.

Digital predator calls, like Foxpro and such. Now that the law has changed lot's of people are into it.. or so I'm reading. And Reloading supplies, (powder especially) if you could become a reasonable, reliable supplier somehow.. shooters will beat a path to your door.

Boots! Good quality footwear is always in demand. I know a few outdoor stores that say they would not be in business if it wasn't for the footwear.

Dear sweet Jesus, you've got THAT right. I'm in South Edmonton and I'd drive to Leduc to get a decent selection of powder compared to south side Wholesale Sports... the demand at P+D means their stock goes up and down pretty quickly, and WSS doesn't stock anything worth mentioning besides some Reloder 15 for my .308 (in which I prefer Varget anyway)!

Bring in a good selection of powders - and have at least a few 8lb'ers for volume purchasing guys like me - and you'll be laughing!

Are you near the airport? I'm always overnight in Leduc on my way home from vacation. I'd be inclined to make a quick dash into a conveniently located shop to pick up odds and ends before heading North.

And you might want to become a sponsoriong dealer before you get too carried away with promoting yourself. I'd hate to see you get in trouble for unknowingly violating the rules. PM Greentips for more information.

@Big ugly man-I am near the airport.(1 block north of Mc Donalds) I am brand new to the site so thanks for the tip about becoming a sponsered dealer.(I hope I don't get in trouble)

An insulated, up-land hunting coat with an outside game bag, zippered front, and a pleated bi-swing back.

Without the hunter-red patches on it, and something that does'nt fit like you're wearing a tent.

A shopping list???

Ok, Good quality lighters and items like the Gerber Strikeforce. A good selection of good knives, not tactical crap, made in China crap, EMT crap, glass breaking crap. The key here is don't sell crap in place of good knives. Sandbag rests, not high tech plastic gun holders. Leather slings, nylon slings, but not wonder material slings or slings with pretty deer painted on it, yuk. Quality cartridge carriers that fit on your belt, not nylon or elastic but real, kill that damn cow leather. You cannot find good cartridge carriers anyplace it seems. Quality footwear. Not just full mountain hunting boots but upland boots. Good chaps. Bird vests with lots of pockets and with easy to clean game bags. Good compasses, maybe even a GPS or two but don't let them overshadow good compasses. Good quality waders. Good quality clothing but not necesarily camo.Filson or similar wool coats are always popular. Shotgun choke tubes for the major brands. BPS has a great selection of tubes, I always wondered why more don't. A good selection of rifles and shotguns. More econo models and average models then pricey guns. Good binolculars and spotting scopes. Don't peddle garbage, just sell quality where it counts. Shotgun accessories. Not tactical crap but camo wraps, sling mounts, beads, pads, etc.
