I don't know how many of you have one of these rifles but Marstar sold out pretty fast. I've got a few questions about them:

1) Do they take standard CZ BRN0 magazines? I'd really like to get some 10 round ones but Marstar always has them sold out and no one on the EE is ever selling them.

2) The side mount dovetail. Does anyone know where to get a mount that'll work with this rifle?

3) I found the CCI Blazer standard 40g ammunition is most accurate, followed up by the Fiocchi 40g standard, and then American Eagle 40g. Has anyone else tried ammo for this gun and found decent accuracy?

4) My k98 cleaning rod doesn't screw into the rifle like on the real k98's. Am I the only one that has this problem? Every picture I see online has one of these rifles with the cleaning rod in it.

5) The k98 bayonet shakes around when inserted on the gun, obviously because the barrel is slimmer than the full 7.92x57mm mausers. Has anyone ever "made this work" on the JW-25a?

6) The mystery wood, what is it?

That's all for now. If anyone has any 10 round mags or accuracy tips please give me a shout!

JW-25A stuff

I purchased my JW-25A from Lever Arms a couple of years ago and got a 10rnd. mag with it. Having said that, I usually shoot it single shot; if you wanted to pay for shipping I could be persuaded to send it to you.
As for accuracy, I put a 3-9 Tasco scope from Wally World on it in high rings. Needed the high rings to clear the bolt handle. Unfortunatley I can't find my notes on ammo/accuracy. I have shot out to 100m with this combo and, other than one spectacular, witnessed, 5 shot group of @.5", most groups were in the 2" range. I have gotten some .5" goups at 50m but most were around .75". The iron sights on mine were absolute ####e and not worth mentioning.
Cheers!:)

hi there, i just picked up a 10 round cz mag for mine today and it feeds rounds just fine however i would try to cycle the action with some dummy rounds at the store to verify it works with your gun because some say they dont work.

for a scope i would recommend a 3-9x32 opposed to a 3-9x40, i have a 3-9x40 on mine with the highest mounts i could find and the scope only clears the front sight by about a mm.

hope this helps

I put a Simmons 3X9X40 with scope risers on mine so I could clear the rear sight. It works fine, but hard to gauge accuracy since it was pretty windy the day I had it out for the 100yard test shoot.

Overall, I'm happy with the rifle. Looks great and decent accuracy.

I tried a buddy's plastic CZ mags on mine, and they don't 'lock' into the magazine channel- stick with metal mags for this reason. I also had a sticky mag release initially, but with some use, it's smoothed in operation.

Look south of the border for side mounts- but be prepared to pay a pretty penny. I picked up a leather repro sling from the states shortly after I bought my j-dub, but that's as far as I'm interested in being nostalgic. 11mil scope risers are available from HK on ebay, on top of which you can slap regular weaver rings and a scope and have it positioned high enough that the scope won't get in the way of the bolt throw.

I've shot one hole groups at 25 yards with Stingers, Remington Subsonics and Federal SV Champions (714 I think). I was surprised how well it shot Stingers, as my Savage doesn't like them worth a dam. I've had no luck with it with Win 333, Vipers, or Dynapoints. Overall, I'm very impressed with the performance of the rifle, and I'm sure you'll find the same.

there is a pin you can knock out just below the dovetail. It's in there pretty good but it will eventually move. The sight is pressed on so you will have to give it a good tap to turn it to where you want it. Make sure to use a brass hammer to avoid marring, or even a hard plastic one.

I had to do the same thing to my Gf's when she had one. I never reinstalled the pin, the sight was quite secure without it. Hope it works as well for you.

I do improved the same proble So i order a K98 rear sight blade (the fit is very good on the JW-25A sight ) then i file all graduations. I install it on the rifle and shoot at 25 yards, when i shot dead center, i with a sharp carboloy point trace a line just like the oiginal one and stamp 25 Y. After i do the same at 50 yards and repeat the same thind untill i have a shooting range for 250 yard.

It's fontionning very well and for a best result, alterned the line of yardage from
both side on the ramp. The Norinco pivots on the blade are off-center and they are unusable.

Try it, Judes

I tried the 5 round CZ mags in mine and they didn't work either. This is why I'm really not wanting to try a CZ 10 rounder. A certain CGN'er hooked me up HUGE today with a 10 rounder that works in his JW-25a. I'm pretty anxious to get out shooting and not have to keep refilling that stupid 5 rounder over and over.

Judes, what do you mean when you speak of the blades being off center and unusable? I don't get what you mean.

Also, I bought Extra high rings today and those didn't even clear the bolt. I guess I'm going to look into extra extra high if they even exist haha.
