Finally drew a tag. Could take a pee shooter but what better use could there be for my .416 Rem. with 350 TSXs.

Take your tin boat and a fishing rod. Sit back, lather on the bug dope and watch and watch and watch. Can be an easy opportunity if you wait for them to come out on thier time. Or just bomb around in the truck or on a quad. Wont be needing to snomomobile this year.

Do you think the 416 will do it? Maybe you need the Lott? Maybe you need back-up from a Rigby? Good that you got the draw (even though you're undergunned), I got Skeena sheep. We've got to go shoot one of these days again.

I have no idea where you are hunting, but if it is open country and you end up scoping out slides you might have your hands full shooting a 416 prone at long range...Only you can tell if you are comfortable shooting the beast.

If you have a seconds hesitation you should choose something a little smaller....

Grizzly, I wish. Sounds like a 416 should work. A 460 might be better. You may have enough volunteers to have all your guns packed for you.

No worries about shooting the 416 prone, it aint happenin. This is my third 416 Rem and I've had Rigbys and the big WBYs. I shoot big stuff all the time and can shoot this 416 like a 308. I won't take any long range shot at a Grizzly, if its in the open 200 would be max and I can do that off one knee or sitting with elbows on knees. If I get lucky and find one I want the last thing I want is a wounded Bear because of a hail Mary. Idealy I'll try for well under 100 yds. With the 350 TXS I've got 3006/180 trajectory.

Turns out my brother knows it to some extent. Going to do some scouting for sure. Both my brothers want to come and do some fishing at the same time, looking like a good spring trip.

This is the rifel I packed on my grizzly hunt last year it is a T/C Contender carbine in 375JDJ loaded with 260gr Accubonds @ 2300fps muzzle velocity.

Didn't get a grizzly but dropped a 6' + plus black bear with one shot @ 90 yards.

I'm thinking a 416 will work...
