Ya, I'd like to know as well. Looks to be just a Norinco SKS (with only half the butt lacquered).

If you check out Frontier's site the one on there is the same. Not sure if they got wet or the workers missed half the stocks?

Yea it just a norinco...Which is the reason why the tapco stock is already on the way for it

It is gunk stuck to the stock from sitting in the crates for years. Mine is from Frontier and it had the same patch on the butt. I just spent the time to properly clean my gun instead of coming on here cutting down other peoples sks's

For recent imports,these PLA SKS's are really nice..Oddly enough,my /306\ came from Moving Target with the same marring on the buttstock.

I dont know for sure but im guessing its something to do with the saddles they sit in in the wooden crates they were stored in maybe? I used some very mild paint solvent and some very fine steel wool and polished it off.
Just dont go overboard with it.

That is definitely one of the nicest SKS rifles I've seen
