So looking for a pistol. And am down to three.

The XD, CZ 75 SP01, and the STI GP6.

I like all three, but what one should I get?

Get the one that fits your hand the best.

NAA.

Buy all three. Shoot em. X count decides the keeper.Sell the other 2 to CGN friends. Good luck.

Dont have the funds for that right now.

^What he said, or get a Glock and be done.

Glock is no where on my radar, I have not held or shot one that I would ever even consider buying.

Cz 75 sp01 shadow.

My only concern with the Shadow is the weight, mostly for when the gf comes shooting mind you. But is it that much better of a gun?

+1

It don't matter what everyone else says you should get although there will be lot of personal preference. You need to get the one that fits you

Thats the problem, I have fondled and shot them, and like them all equally, but differently, if that makes sense.

Yes it is. I had the CZ 85 combat and liked it but sold it and got the Shadow which I just shot for the first time yesterday and it's such a sweet shooting pistol. It's got a better trigger than the combat and the little added weight in the front really helps with the recoil. I love it.

For IPSC I would go with the Shadow, as the weight helps and draw speed is a very small part of your time on a stage and the heavier gun's felt recoilis less than a lighter gun.

For IDPA a lighter gun works to your advantage as stages are shorter and draw times and target transitions make up a larger part of the time element on a stage. A CZ 85 Combat works very well in this regard. With a competition hammer installed on the 85 Combat there is no difference between a Shadow and CZ 85 Combat. I have both guns and can't feel the difference in trigger pull with the new hammer installed.

For plinking buy a 75B or GP 6 and have fun.

Take Care

Don't knock until you try it. I have Kimbers and Sigs but I find myself shooting my Glock 34 the most.

I would get the CZ 75 because I believe it's the most common of the 3, there are a lot of upgrade parts available and parts are easy to get if something break.

Since you like all three go with the one that fits your budget the best. Might also want to look at the price of mags too.

I had a shop owner mention that the CZ will be the easiest to get parts for too. I hadn't really put any thought into it though.

They are all so close in price that they all fit really. Would I need more then the 2 mags? do mags break pretty easy?

With what I said I mean. I have held, and I have fired many glocks. I have not held or shot a glock that would even cross my mind to buy.
Between the glocks I have shot here, and the ones in the states I am sure I have shot 7 different glocks, maybe more. One was even full auto.
Most of them, to me, weren't even worth the range fee to rent them.

When you get into IPSC, cost of the gun is going to be least of your expenses :)

Shadow would be a better suited gun for IPSC.

CZ, very underated and very well built very accurate, all three are good pistols but the CZ edges the others out in accuracy, it may in time rival the sig 210 as being one of the most accurate (current mass manufactured) pistols available in our time. Sig 210 was the best in its day (still is the best imho), cz 75 maybe the best 'new' available in our day.
