what are you putting in your .223 reloads

ive only loaded about 50 .223's in my life with a friend for his mini and we used Varget under a remington core lokt soft point....

so i cant say anyhting about the super long range accuracy but the varget seemed easy to load with:)

Benchmark (because I have lots of it) 55gr Vmax. Max load in the Hornady manual is 24.5grs with this bullet.

I used to load 25.6 under a 55gr Nosler BT. Did about 3250 fps in the 22" brl (1:12). I believe it is the load printed on the side of the Benchmark cans

WC735 Surplus powder $ 20 per lb from Higginsons Powder (since I shoot a heck of a lot)

25.0gr for my 68 gr Hornady HPBT's and also for my 50 gr VMax (groundhog loads). :D

Life is good!

Talk about timely, Barney; am running low on WC845 and need to figure out what to do with WC735 (for .30-06/150, .308/150, .223/68 and .223/55). How hot is 25.0 WC735 under a Hdy-68 (pressure signs and/or muzzle velocity...?)

Our basement realods fired out of a mini-14 ranch rifle is an embarassment to the "precision rifles" section :)

Thrice fired Norinco brass with winchester primers, varget powder and 55gr remington soft points is not a recipe that will deliver accuracy lol

My 700 with 1-12 twist shoots spectacular groups with a 40gr V-max over 20 gr.s of IMR 4198. It's my gopher load, so max velocity is not required, but the accuracy is unbelievable.
