Well I guess the price on Norc m-14s are dropping

Since there's no obligation attached to it, maybe I'll pre-order 10 and then flake out when the time comes to pony up the cash. You can count on me to complain about Marstar service on the weekly thread bashing them though.

I don't know how many are enough. I have two - a "shorty" Marstar 2007, and a Polytech done up with Boyds stock, NM rear sights, etc. I could have waited for this deal and saved $100 and perhaps got a better gun, and maybe next year I'd do better yet. A bayo lug means as much to me as a 20/5 poseur mag, so no loss there (Note: these guns are well suited to the 10/5 mag). I am watching with interest the Italian option, mostly because I have something for walnut stocks and nice fit and finish.

You can also wait for the Italian M14, but I don't think you"ll get it for $429.
Made in Italy means high quality, but also higher labour cost.
I have no idea how much the Ital. M14 will cost, but i guess it will be closer to $1000.

I'm holding out for the Italian shorties John says he'll be bringing in; I figure on swapping the walnut stock for the USGI fiberglass stock on one of my Norcs and sticking a front-end rail on it. More convenient than a chop job...

Okay, I have been meaning to ask this for a long time.....how many M14s are enough???? :D

Sure, I don't shoot enough, I know that, but how many M14s does a man (woman?) need??? My #### is firmly in place and gets used by my wife way to often to fall off, so why another? Are the newer models that much better than the 2007s? I don't care about the bayo lug, as I don't plan on stickin anyone...;), so are you guys buying simply because it is a god deal???

I think I'm going to stop at three; one vanilla, one scope, one shorty tacticool.

DAVID K;
"What the hell? What happened to "Last evarrrr, better get them before they're all gone forevarr!!!!"

They were the last.... AT the time we posted that we neither had any more nor did we have an agreement to provide us with any more....

"Maybe because it wasn't the truth? "

This is the point at which I get annoyed.... If you are questioning our integrity ? Now I get upset....

I tell you what, you prove to me that we lied about our posting as of that date and I will give you one of the new M-305b rifles.... However If you cannot prove it you donate $429. to one of the many organizations I support.

I think its called putting your money where your mouth is.... Do we have a bet ??

Well I don't have any M14s right now so that's why I just pre-ordered three.
Why?
Well, a couple of reasons.

1. They are a ridiculously good value for the money.

2. I like to take my friends out shooting. I want something I can give them so we don't have to wait for someone to finish before taking a turn.

3. I've always wanted to have a collection of similar guns stacked up like an armory. :D

personally, i'd love to see either a conventional italain or a shorty with a bayonet lug- ie s shoty bayonet- it might get in the way of the gas plug with a short barrel, but it would be HANDIER- i know springfield( pitooie) had to go with a non-lugged f/h on their m1a1 bush rifle with the folding stock for that reason

you NEED 4 to do a BARRACKS RACK- beside the door- and 20 round mags locked in-

Well I have one of the chu wood M14s, took it to Hungry and NavyShooter's clinic in Halifax, turned out to need no shimming or anything. I'm on the verge of getting one of these, the parts alone are worth the price IMO. I'm waiting on the savage/stevens 16" shorty coming later this year also... how many .308s can a man own, what's the legal limit? ;)

I thought it was because Marstar was pissed at Norinco because they were supposed to be the exclusive Canadian distributor, but Norinco was going behind their back and selling to others. I guess they worked things out.

Marstar has never bee the exclusive importer of Chinese guns. There have always been several importers. However, none of them stand behind their imports with their own warranty like Marstar has and does.

i got mine from lever years ago- before the isreali ones hit our shores

Am I the only one that can't find how to navigate to this page from Marstar's site? The only link I can find from their site is "Rifles > Norinco > http://www.marstar.ca/gf-norinco/M-14S.shtm".

???

edit: What I'm asking is, is this just a lone page they put up that doesn't yet have a link to it? How am I supposed to find these cool new products first when I can't find the link? :p

look at the top of each page- see the banners=third row, 3rd from the right, POiNT AND CLICK

So.... When do we say enough fricken rifles already.... GET US SOME FRICKEN AMMO at reasonable prices.
What good is another pile of these rifles if there is no ammo left to shoot them

I'd like a straight answer on why we can get the rifles BUT the norinco green box 7.62 sitting in china is not here at less than 650 a case/1000

Forget the rifles, we want ammo :D

Amen to that!!!

Maybe I'm a bit spoiled, but I'd like both ;)

Hmmmm......

That Queen song "I want it all" is rolling through my head :D

BTW. I think my wallet/credit card is going to regret seeing this thread.

I just need to get a mount and scope for it (probably a Marstar Op rod too) and there's my new hunting rifle!!
