Hello, I'm trying to find an all steel, hinged or duckbill 5 round mag for the SKS. I'm hoping for a flush fit model if that exists.
Thanks in advance.

heard of them never seen one!

you could always do some metal surgery with a zip cut and one small weld

flush 5 round magic!:50cal:

I have tried SKS man but all I found was a plastic model and it was sold out. I'd love to modify one to 5 rounds but I would only do this to a generic Norinco piece. I don't weld myself but I'm sure I could find someone to do the job. I thought I saw a picture here of someone who had one installed, it looked great.

i had all three.

norinco , after awhile the lips were bent and wouldnt feed properly , also the spot weld started to become undone.

zytel , works good.

john mason , again lips became bent and couldnt get it to feed properly, also poor follower design.

note: with all duck-bill you should mod the bolt or get a SKS-D bolt , you will end up bending the lips when putting the mag in while the bolt is forward, thats the problem with thin metal on norinco and john mason , no problem with zytel cos its flexable.

Well despite the GLARINGLY OBVIOUS problems with the magazines that are supplied with the SKS's that are making it to Canada (pinning) and at this point nobody has had the bright flash of insight that 'hey, if I imported some Norinco 5 round SKS magazines in volume and at a good price, I could make some money', I am surprised no one has imported any en masse.

For this problem I believe that the follower isn't long enough to move the bolt stop. So the follower then becomes the bolt stop. Atleast, this is the issue I am having with my Russain when using the Norinco 5 mag version. As for the Zytel one there is a member here who has worked out the bug's for it but this version dosn't sit flush with the stock. Although I am tring to figure out how or if I can switch the followers from a Rusian into the Norinco to see if this will resolve the issue. I will post back when I have tried it.
