I have the above scale and am just getting back into reloading. The scale has been packed for 4 years and not used. I brought the scale out to start loading some rounds and am having a problem zeroing the scale.

I have followed the instructions in the guide, but the scale will not lift or zero.

Has anyone had this problem?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

First off, let's check the basics.

1) Is the pan, and the small and large poise installed?

2) Is the scale level, sitting on the base on the left side, and on the adjustment screw on the right?

3) Is the beam sitting on it's knife edge in the rest, well centered?

mine was the same a few years ago...
take the silver tray off..take the skrew out..inside there are some bb shaped objects..
if your scale is reading to high.take a bb out...if its reading to low add a bb or something about the same weight

Thanks... After the hockey game I will try some of these things(Canada vs US) ..Kinda hard to do it with OT coming up. :)

I have followed the "zeroing" instructions. And its not even moving.

I will try cleaning the pivots first.

Where is this screw exactly? My scale is reading low (ie below the equilibrium...in fact burried). Where are these "bb"'s?

Many thanks guys! I will let you know what happens...after the game that is!

the bb's are in the silver dish.

this will work if it wont when cleaning.

If the scale was working properly before it was packed away, then cleaning as described above, should get it to work properly.

As well, the knife edge, or the beams may have bent while in storage.
Or the damping plate (copper colored metal sheet on the main beam) may be bent or something else bent and is touching it.

Fiddling with the BBs inside the dish hanger is the last, last resort. If the beam was working before, then your problem is most probably not with the BBs. I know because I fooled around with them, lost some BBs and it was harder to zero. Turned out problems was something else.

Success!!!!!

Many thanks again folks!!!

Cleaning the pivots with rubbing alcohol did the trick!!!

Scale is zeroing now like the day it was bought!

Now on to the next problem....ah the adventures of a reloader!!!! :)
