Hello,

I just had a friend ask me what his Remington 700 Alaskan in 300WinMag was worth. Unfortunately, he does not have computer access most of the time. What is the going price for this? He has used it for only a couple of seasons on moose.

Thanks.

Remington thinks its worth $2499 new. I think its worth $1299 new. He will be a long time trying to recoup his money if he paid their asking price...

Although, it appears they are not making a Ti model anymore, so that may increase the used value some...

You are a generous man. lol That would make an XCR worth about $500. About right I'd say.

When did he buy the Alaskan? If it is an older model (like 10yrs) it should fetch $1500 in VG+ condition. They where much better then than now.

The Alaskan Titanium has only been around for 2 or 3 years....$1500 tops...and it's really not worth that much with the factory barrel...I sold a Ti with a PacNor barrel and a Wildcat stock for $1600 last fall...

Funny the XCR was mentioned, as a guy could buy one, put an EDGE or Wildcat stock on it, and have a lighter rifle, with a better stock, for less money. The Alaskan is a fashion statement...Nobody wants a Ti mountain rifle with a 24" magnum contour barrel...;)

Thanks guys. He decided to hang onto it, he bought it second hand so it is not as bad as new. Given that it is right around the average price people would pay so I guess he did alright.

Are we talking an Alaskan Ti or an Alaskan KS? Big difference....

Is it a Ti or KS?
