Lets see some pics of your Tacticool VZ 58/858s

when i was at the range, i was kinda disappointed that i couldnt use the bi pod and the AFG together.. so now i came up with the solution.. :) mounted the 6" rail extension on to the original bottom rail of the handguard, and left is sticking out about an inch.... just enough to attach the bipod.. Here is some pics.. :)

Does anyone think it looks too weird, and i should go to the way it was before, forget the bipod... :) ???

A little weird, only cause it looks like you are trying to have an "everything" gun.

I'd remove the magpul grip and folding stock. Keep your bipod and optic and install something a little more scope friendly for the stock, maybe replace the upper handguard with the original or plastic to lighten it up. Muzzle break is nice (Where'd you get it?)

Buy a 2nd rifle (vz58 or cz858), put your folding stock and AFG on it (red dot if you must) with the NEA upper handguard from this rifle ;).

It's probably not what you wanted to hear, but, that'd be the ultimate setup (plus you get 2 guns!) :D

What you got isn't bad though, looks fun!

Can I ask what you are using for your sling point on the rear?? (where'd you get that adapter or is it factory with the folder?)

Cheers

It's the factory folder, which has a sling mount built in. Wrap it with styrofoam and paracord, and it's quite comfortable.

GMC

Awesome! Thanks!
I have an 858 with folder coming; I've always had the fixed stock on previous 858's.

Do you have any pics of a "wrapped" stock? I'm thinking it'd look slick.

...adapter comes with the folder.. sling is Magpul MS2, M/brake is a standard CZ one.. thanks for honesty.. :) i am expecting few more parts tomorrow, the galil folder, and Burris Fast Fire 2(to go on top of the scope.. :) ).. :)
and you are right with the amount of parts coming out .. i'll need another one or two rifles.. :)

Gents:

If I may, it does not matter how good your pictures are, any kind of photo software is your friend, and will help the rest of us see more clearly what you are trying to show us.

thats true... then i might loose the scope and just have the Burris riding that side mount..

You'd be even better off with the FF on the handguard. The side mount with that particular mount is still pretty high. Is the rail not inline with the bore or does it just look that way due to the angle of your picture?

BTW, what handguard set is that on your rifle?

Hand guard is Infratek .. it is polymer...

I just thought i'll have much better field of view if i'll have the FF closer to the eye... the mount is just a bit off center...

It won't be that much different with respect to the field of view. Personally, I like to get the sight line as close to the bore line as I can. Try both locations out to see if one works better and to see if that handguard will return-to-zero after removal for cleaning.

Can you remove your receiver cover and bolt carrier without removing your side-mount first?

I don't have any FOV issues with the setups below.

How accurate do you find a red dot set up at say 100m? Im torn between red dot weaver mount like yours and a scope with side mount like Dmitri's. Is red dot just cool or is it actually functional at a distance?

Scopes don't make your rifle more accurate, they just make it easier to pick your aiming point. If you do your part, you won't notice any difference between the two.

As requested. Not a great picture, but you'll get the idea. There ends up being about 16 feet of paracord on the stock. The styrofoam is water pipe insulation cut to fit. I found plenty of wrapping how-tos on YouTube.

Thank you! I like it very much, I was wondering what I was going to do with my folder... now I know ;)
~Cheers!

I never use photo editing software. I know I could make them alot better then they are, but with the right background, they can be good enough to get the point across.

Here is my thoughts on the matter.

Kevin:

If I have pi$$ed in your corn flakes, please do accept my appologies.

However, with respect, If one is simply unwilling to accept constructive critisium, and not expend the small amount of effort it takes to take clear photo's, and/or improve those photo's with the appropriate software, well more power to you.

However that lack of effort, or simply stupid bull-headednss may just translate in to poor success, weather it be in making a point easiliy understandable and comprehendable, or when it comes to retailing a line of new items.

Something you may want to keep in mind, should that wood stock venture your working on ever get off the ground

GomerPyle,
That is the sharpest looking VZ carbine I've seen. If I ever do a carbine that is what I'll be duplicating.;)
