reloading 8 gauge shells?

The shells we had were modified kiln gun hulls. Reloaded with black and slugs. Fired in a Damascus steel SxS. I can`t recall the make.

Both Remington and Winchester make 8 gauge industrial shot shells, for use in removing built up scale in boilers, etc. These rounds have a step built into the brass to prevent their accidental use in normal firearms. However, the step can be removed and the hulls reloaded using felt wads and a roll crimp. There was once a big thread on the doublegun BBS on how this is done, apparently there are a few people who do this successfully.
