Scope on a budget

Tasco super sniper has good seals.

The Tasco Super Sniper is without a doubt the best scope for the money available today.

Don't let the Tasco brand name fool you into thinking the Super Sniper scopes are low-end units not worthy of being placed on an expensive rifle.

Tasco is free to purchase components according to their requirements and pricing.

As a result, Tasco can build any quality of scope desired.

In fact this trio of Super Sniper scopes were built to such exacting standards that they were awarded US Navy contract #N00164-93-C-205 for use on military sniper rifles. As can be imagined, a scope built to withstand the rigors of military service is more than tough enough to be used on the most extreme hunting or competition rifle. They are so tough, they are even rated for use on .50 caliber sniper rifles.

Bushnell Legends are great. Ive got a 4-12x40 on my savage .270. I bought it after the original simmons broke the first time I sighted it in.

I also own a sportsman and banner both in 3-9x40. They are on my 17hmr and .223. They have performed flawlessly. The Legend is noticeably clearer.

Ya but did you put them in the freezer or the the bath tub over night, you know a scope has be able to with stand these rigors in order to shoot well on a rifle..................... FS

The Redfields are definitely worth looking at, seeing as they are made by Leupold and have the same warranty support. Other brands I would consider as a reasonable minimum would be Bushnell 3200 Elite or Nikon Buckmasters. Anything less than that is not suitable for a centrefire rifle.

I would be mainly concerned with durablility, holding zero, and tracking over optical quality.
