I have been doing some research on the model 788 remington. I know that they did manufacture a 22-250 in 1967 but if I am reading things right they only produced the LH in 308 and 6mm? Would really like to have a 788 LH in the 22-250 cal. Is my only opion is to get one custom made? Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I think you're s.o.l. unless you get one rebarreled. It would be a nice gun though, if I ever saw one in lh 22-250 I'd buy it in a sec. My dad collects them and loves them.

788's were only made as leftys in 6mm and 308...and they aren't true leftys...they are an abomination of a left hand bolt with the safety and ejection port on the right hand side.....
If you can find a 6mm or 308 and a factory 22-250 barrel you're in business...the 22-250 used a shorter magazine but it should feed from the 308 or 6mm magazine....

788 Left Hand 308

I bought one of those new many years ago at Sears in Oshawa. It was a mixture. left hand bolt with right hand eject.

It was accurate but not a pleasant gun to shoot. The gun was light (Kicked Hard) and the barrel was short (Loud).

So after 24 rounds I decided it was not the gun for me and sold to a guy in the NWT.

It was a good gun, but one of the few guns I owned that I do not regret selling.

Cheers
