AR-15 transfer...

For some reason your 1st AR15 transfer in Quebec takes about 3 months. They started doing that after Dawson. The only good news is the ones after that take 3-10 days. If you dont buy another AR during the following Year you will have to wait another 3 months on your next transfer. you can call and ##### every week and it will do you no good. Suck it up.

So its a Quebec thing? In alberta a AR-15 transfer wouldnt take as long?

Fox you are in La Belle Provence.... You may be waiting a while for your first restricted black rifle transfer... So I've heard.

That is not true! I put my order in on Feb. 4th and got my CMMG delivered to my door on Feb. 25th. That is only 3 weeks, although I must say this was the longest I've ever had to wait for a transfer, and it did feel like an eternity to me.

Bought my first AR-15 on November 2008 and got the transfer on February 2009. Then bought my Restricted CZH 2003 Sport on March 2009 and got it transfered to me the same week.

So yes they hold up your request for 3-4 months when you buy your first restricted rifle.

I hope i'll be luckyest as you!!! it's my first AR too but i had many handguns in the past.

(heu...can i say luckyest??? :confused::confused: )

If you think thats a ##### wait till the provinces get more power to have their own gun legislation. Charest has been pushing for that for a while now and is having some success. just look at the Anastasia law and AR transfer times. Very scary!

hey guys i got news for you!!! :D
RCMP just called me and the transfer is approuved!! i'm going right now at the Sureté du Québec headquater to get my transport attestation!!

i bought my AR on february 6th and 25 days later everythings is done!
It's a lot faster than before:D:D

i'll show you some pics asap.

Holy crap. I've never waited more than two days. But then, I'm out west :D

That's it, rub it in! We just can't help it here, we can't even vote these A-holes out of power, because there is no "better" choice. Here, we're either governed by a bunch of fascists/mafiosos or a bunch of Ultra Fascists/Commies/Rasist-Separatists. There's just no chance of freedom.

I am also playingthe waiting game from the SQ

JD3 you are lucky last time I called (last week) I was told that they won't even toutch my request for an other 15 day. Keep in mind the transfert was initiated the 22 July

Let me clear something about Quebec wait times

Restricted rifles/Prohibited rifles .. regardless new buyer or not, my experience is 4-6 months and expect a call from the SQ asking to talk to your better half.

Pistols restricted or prohib... business as usual, 3 weeks wait max.

Mind you I did have the occasional fast rifle transfer of 2 weeks. I guess it depends on thier mood or what policy they are following that day.

Saskatchewan is very forgiving.

The day I started shopping for my first restricted firearm was the day I brought one home. Went to the gun store at noon, found the gun I liked, and came back at 4:30pm to pick it up along with a faxed copy of my new LTATT.

That was just a handgun though.

My first restricted rifle came from questar and I believe it shipped the week I ordered it.
