Ruger #1 303 British will be made!

Clay,

Is toebako right? Does making it a line item raise a real possiblity they may offer the calibre in other versions? I'm not yet sure I will go for a 1-A. I would definitely prefer an RSI or a Standard.

Thanks Clay for making this happen. Can we still get consecutive serial numbers? And as many have asked, will there be more than one model of rifle offered?

I think Clay answered your question.

"We just received word today that Ruger will make the 1-A in 303 British. They are comitted to it. That's very good news and should be well received here in Canada!!

Now there is a bit of bad news
They haven't given us a timeline yet. Also, if you wanted a different configuration, I guess we are out of luck. "

I can't really say I'm an expert enough on what Ruger might do. If the 303 is a good seller for them, it might be something they would consider.
I was hoping for a 1-S but, after seeing the 1-A's in 35 Wh a few days ago, I'm actually glad it's a 1-A. :)

Well for people who want a shooter, this is good news. I guess I will wait and see what models they put them in. As a line item now it might be possible to get a RSI. Even better if they put some Circassian on it. It has lost some appeal as it is not a Canadian special, but is pretty cool what a group of buyers and a few dedicated dealers can do.
I will place my order on the 17th and get a second .303 if/when they offer it in other configurations later. I see Ruger offers custom services through a seperate firm. Would be interesting to see what their pricing is.

Excellent! can't wait for the 17th! Too bad about the S/N thing. Maybe you could come up with your own numbered Prohet River stamp, or a little Canadian flag with a number. The first big order you place would get this, just to commemorate the effort and enthusiasm for this special .303. Obviously people could opt out, or maybe it could be put where it wouldn't normally be seen, like under the recoil pad. Just those who were involved in this effort as it's evolved would understand it's significance. I don't think it would really add any value to the rifle, but I think it would be cool to have something on the rifle that sets it apart, even if it only means something to us.

Just a thought,

That's not bad idea. Could be done by us after we receive the rifles as well. Another Thread on what & where it could be on the rifle (GATEHOUSE?). I know it would appeal to me more when they come up on the EE for sale...:D:p
A C.G.N. Proof stamp with the original owner's handle?:D Although a carved beavers head on the butt stock is another idea....

so you want EMT deposits on the 17th?
EMT would be great. Credit card is OK too but costs us $$$, of course.

EMT's will be sent to payments@prophetriver.com

On the 17th, when calling, we will need the following information:

Full name,
Address, both physical and mailing if you have a box #
Phone numbers(s)
PAL#
Place and date of birth
Credit card number if not doing EMT or cheque/MO

It will be busy so We'll get this info as quickly as possible so we aren't holding up the next customer. Two lines will be open 780.875.0575 and 780.872.2865
If we can get another person to answer calls, we'll have a third line and I'll give the nhumber once we know.

Yes, lots of interest. We'll see. Of course, now we don't actually have to worry about numbers, we'll sell what we can. No pressure for the 250. Looks like three phone numbers for the 17th will be in operation for the first few hours.

Call these numbers anytime after 7:30 AB time (for you S. ON guys, that 9:30 your time ;) )

We'll take the calls as fast as we can. Hopefully we'll get lots of rifles on the first order and keep everybody happy :) However, I can't guarantee that; they could trickle in. :(

780.872.2865 Clay will answer and take calls until 10 PM
780.875.0575 Monique will answer and take calls until 10 PM
780.875.7674 Dallyce will answer and tale calls as long as it busy(likely until noon or so?) Not a regular number.

What is a Ruger #1? Sorry if that sounds stupid. The only thing remotely like a #1 on the ruger site was a single shot rifle.
