Hi. If you're thinking of using an M305/M1A/M14 barrel on an M1 or the reverse, you can't. Gas hole and system is different.

You can use M1 Garand parts on a M305 reciever without a problem . I have seen these and they use to be common, built by Clayton Smith of West Texas ordnance. He used to build his on Armscorp receivers.

Says who???????, It can be done and has been done before. Although not for the inexperienced amatuer it has been done you need to mod a M1 garand OP Rod , spring guide,spring and stock .And yes it is nice shooting rifle
