So I put a Bomar rear sight on my N29 because it always shot way low and now it shoots about 3 feet high! The front sight is a tenon fit and not dovetailed.
So what would you suggest, go back to my fixed sight, find a tall front sight (who? where?) or sell the damn thing and start again?
Is this normal when you install a Bomar?

I would say that the Bomar is not compatible with the stock front sight and your front sight can be replaced but requires a gunsmith.

If I understand you, with the stock sights the gun shoots low.
If so then you do not want a higher front sight. Just the opposite. You can file some of the front sight off & lower it. ( Assuming you put the stock rear sight back on ).

As you lower the front sight you have to raise the front of the gun to line up the sights & the gun shoots higher.

I would have a pistolsmith install a taller front sight to match the Bomar rear sight. The small GI-type front sight is far to low to work with a Bomar rear sight.

Armco or RK Custom Guns would be able to do this sort of thing.

The original front sight of the NP29 is too small (narrow and low). A taller front sight will be a HUGE improvement. I changed the sights on my NP29, too - dovetailed tall front sight + Novak rear sight. It shoots like a completely different gun since then.
