I sand, preferably with a mouse sander, fist with 80 grit to remove old finish, then smoothen with 120
Hit with a coat of krylon gray primer.
1st coat will reveal small flaws, gouges ect
Fill gouges , selector hole/connector hole with Goop Marine Fix Fast epoxy putty (RONA) and and profile, again with 80 then 120 to feather in and blend any repairs
Another coat of primer
Again look for any flaws you may wish to address.
Then once you are happy with it, apply 2 more even coats of primer
Allow minimum 12 hour cure at room temp
Then apply 2 even coats Krylon Camo OD olive
Allow 24 hour cure
Then coat with 4 coats RONA matte clear laquer spray
Wait a day and yer good to go
