I recently bought a used Leupold sequoia green ring spotting scope, 15-45x60mm w/angled eyepiece. I realize you get what you pay for when it comes to optics, but I'm fairly dissapointed with this unit. I was hoping I could at least see a .30 cal hole at 200m on a sunny day with it but thats not the case. I'm curious to hear others opinions about these scopes. Regards

I have one too and agree there crap in my opinion. I can see better with my rifle scope which is a IOR 2x12 than I can see with the Sequoia.

Bad choice all around.

Yea, mine is made in Korea. I don't think i'll ever touch one of these "budget" Leupold products. By the way can you reccomend a reasonably priced spotting scope which will let me see .243cal holes at 200m?

Try the Bushnell Elite 15-45x60 about $500. Very compact and an excelent spotting scope for the money (it is our best selling model in the store). Phil.

Seeing bullet hole at 200m isn't that easy without spending big bucks. A lot has to do with how sturdy your scope stand is, how much mirage and how much light/back lighting is on the target.

that is pretty bad, I can see 30 cal holes at 200m with a leup Vari-X III 4.5-14

Bang for the buck champ is the Minox 16-30x50mm for $189

I just ordered one from them after playing with one a few weeks ago. It is noticeably brighter and clearer than my Leupold 25x50 Gold Ring when set at 25x, though not as heavily built or amrored as the Leup.
