Hello all!!

Need a little help.

I am in the market for another one or two VZ-58 pistol grips.

Besides the factory, and the ones from Fab (available from Wolverine & others) I was wondering what other styles are available, what colors and where your getting them from.

Before WrechGod chimes in, yes I know "Paint" is your friend, however to my mind, pigment that is already in the plastic or polymer is a better option.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post, and I look forward to your constructive and helpful responses.

Some people complain about the trap door on the FAB ones breaking. I've never had one returned for failure or any other reason. If you're looking for a grip that is direct replacement for the factory one but offers extended length and a thicker palm swell then there's nothing wrong with the FAB unit especially for $35.

When the VZ was being issued overseas the FAB stuff was being run and I've never heard of any issues. It is certainly better then the factory grip which can be hard to hang on to when active. So long as its properly installed, there should be no reason it fails under the stress of civilian use in Canada.

Everyone is different though and when we have a wide array of options everyone will have their own favorite.

I know AK pistol grips fit and they're available in many different configurations, though I'm told you need to remove the top plate the original grip fits into. I looked at mine and the trigger guard is welded to it, so much as I want an AK grip on mine I'll take a pass. Don't want to risk damaging my gun. YMMV, of course.

Just out of curiousity does anyone know what the thread on the grip screw for the CZ-858 is??

I have a couple of A2 style grips I may look at modifying, however I think I will need a shorter screw.

Actually Mr. Gommer Pyle has done it. Just waiting on a few details. The reason for adapting the A2 is that they are cheap, and if I screw it up, well then I'm out less than $10. :D

Yeah I wanted to do the same thing and contacted gommer. He said that his started to crack, so if any one has a method let me know. Thats what I got the MOE for AB.

Yeah it's true guys :( I though my mod was working OK, but found little cracks on it recently, so it probably won't withstood the abuse from gun recoil in long term.
Maybe if better materials were used (fibreglass ?) it could work ... but still it won't be as sturdy as some kind of one piece AR15 to vz58 pistol grip adapter ... somebody should start manufacturing it immediately :pirate:

I took a stab at removing the finger grooves. It turned out okay and it feels much better. I'll probably stipple the whole thing when I get some more time.
