What would be involved in changing from a .40 S&W to a 9mm in my
Sig P-226. Is it as simple as getting a new barrel and mag, or is there something that would complicate the change?
I can't see why the frame would be different. SIG also makes .22 conversion kits for centrefire P226s as well and they don't differentiate with regards to calibre. This suggests to me that all frames are the same.
Yes, frames are the same. However extractor, ejectors may be different and the sights will probly be differnt heights as well. Probly eassier to just get the whole top end conversion or sell the .40 and get a 9mm

Unfortunately I'm greedy and want both calibres. Also, I checked on the Sig website and in the FAQ's, they say that only the 220 and .22 designed for the conversion can do a 9mm change. Getting more and more confused about the whole idea. Might be just easier to buy a 9mm P-226.
