You Take Some Parts & Get A 6ppc

I'm looking forward to trying the new IMR 8208. I use H322 now.

So what's the scoop on 8208? I'd never heard of it, and recently started noticing it in Hodgdon's online data.

Is it a fine, short stick powder? I assume it must be showing some promise as a 6PPC powder. Is it just another alternative to H322 to try, or is there anything about it that is potentially better?

IMR 8208 XBR is a recent addition. One of the top BR shooters has convinced Hodgins to introduce a "clone" of the old unobtainium 8208, aka T322, Thunderbird. These powders haven't really been available for 20 yrs.

XBR has shown real promise, I expect BR shooters will be all trying it this year. It appears to be a bit slower than N133 which has been the go to powder for the 6PPC for years. Visually it looks like 322. Lots of threads on it at benchrest.com

Nice stick LefT. Hope to see you at some of the matches this summer.
Just remember even when fireforming...bring your wind flags.
More time spent over them the better.
I'll keep an eye open for "The Red Baron"

Well today I met up with my gunsmith Joe Kroetsch
and picked up my 6ppc.
As promised,Joe said he would have it ready before the warm weather hit.
I'm pretty excited and just wanted to share.
I'm waiting for powder and a guide rod, then I'll fireform a couple of cases and get a Harrells die.
Kelby Panda action.
Kelby rings
Short and fat Maclennan barrel.
Jewel BR trigger
Weaver T36 Scope.
Robertson Speedy stock.
This is my first serious rifle, and I know I'm going to have a long
enjoyable shooting season working it out.
