Tactical Rimfires

tried out the remington today, i like it! had a 30rd 597 clip and it fed great.

one stove pipe in about 50rds of minimags, the other guy fired off about 60rds and had no issues.

seems like a good value, going to have to get one for myself!

All 597 mags work with the VTR I have one and love it almost done customizing it! When it's done I'll post some pics.
hmmm, was thinking the sr22 would be for me but after seeing the prices the remington seems like the better deal of the 2 (at least for me) on a budget. i see that the sr22 will accept any 10-22 magazines; will the remington accept and feed ok with most or all 597 mags?

KLRKLR mentioned a 22 round mag From Pro mag for the 597 VTR. Is there a sponsor for CGN that carries these? If not anyone know where I can get me one?? Thanks.

Curious, a question regarding tactical 22 cals.......why do the mags not hold as many rounds as they could? 25 round mags, 30 round mags- thats what the mags hold for large calibrs like the .223 or 7.62X39. If these mags are the same physical size as the original mags and the .22 cal is soooo much smaller then centerfire ammo, why cant they fit MUCH more into a mag?

This is particuarily true of the PPS 50. The original Russian gun held 71 rounds of 7.62X25 in its drum, yet the drum for the look-alike 22 cal holds 50 tiny 22 cal rounds.

Youd think it could hold 200 or more......

Whats the reason for the relatively small "high cap" mags?

Anyone know?

Making them for cheap enough to be able to make profit on them probably.
I know for the ruger there are a couple 50 round mags, probably 100 rounders somewhere in the states. But you are gonna pay, thats for sure.

Yes they can, there's a company making double stask mags for the 10/22,

Rimmed cartridges don't seem to do well in magazines.

Held a M*P 15/22 today at a Vegas gun shop. Beautiful rifle, all special composite but very sturdy and well made. The guys behind the counter told me their customers love it. Can't wait, any word on the classification?

It will be restricted apparently. Thats the only reason I went with a Ruger SR-22 instead.

I held a mp15-22 at the Vegas gun range. I need one now. The Barrett 82a1 was nice too. I really hope they don't screw this up and make it restricted.
I also looked at a sweet mag for a mini14 it was a double drum 100rd mag. And if I was driving home I woulda tried to bring it home for the small price of 350usd
