Hi, would just like to know around how much does a cz-52 is worth here in canada, i've seen many (US forums) that they are like the russian TT-33 (for the price range/caliber) but i don't see a lot here in canada, so around how much does it worth? As reliable as a TT-33?

Thank you very much:rolleyes:

Don't know how much they are but I like them!

My only experience with a CZ-52 was when my brother in law was at a gun show in Arkansas and saw one and wanted it .. I lent him $100 bucks and he paid $125 for a CZ-52 with holster and 2 mags plus a box of ammo. When we got it home and i shot that gun in his back yard (Don' yah just love the USA).. i could not miss with it..everything i shot at i hit... just loved how it felt and how it handled... If i found one here i would certainly consider buying it.. Actually saw one on the EE for $400.. a bit pricey for me.. but just love the gun..

i think the going rate for one is about $400 or so. i bought mine for $450. sold it for $450, they hold their value :) hard to find.

i prefer the tokarev

I had one that had been re-chambered to fire 9mm. Stay away from those, I don't think I was ever able to fire off one complete magazine without some type of jam or malfunction. I bought it in "excellent" refurbished condition from Century Int'l when they still had a warehouse in Canada. It was so "excellent " the firing pin broke after about 50rds and the slide stop ceased "stopping " after 500 rds. Total cost for the gun was $290 when I bought it about 17yrs ago.

cz 52

I just bought one at Wanstalls in Maple Ridge, BC! I'm awaiting for the paper work before I get the ok to pick it up. As to the statements above, mine was worth $400. Furthermore, I ordered some of those lovely custom wooden grips, and not to relent - rather throw salt on fresh wounds - I purchased the last 9 boxes of s&b ammo from sfrc:p I can't wait for range day:ar15: I know this post doesn't really help, but with due dilligence, there's hope!

Great, i want to buy one also because i have a big box of 7.62x25 and thought my TT could use some help to go through it :D (any other good handgun in 7.62x25? (appart norinco)) would always like to get a semi auto ppsh but even if i found one, could never afford it...

There is more coming in next week :)

As reliable as a TT-33?

The operation system of the Vz.52 is in theory stronger than the one on the TT-33's, which should've allows it to fire hotter loads(such as surplus Czech "SMG" loads). In reality, however, some parts on the Vz.52 is more fragile than the TT-33. For example, the bottom of the chamber on the vz. 52 measures 0.058" where as the, supposedly weaker, TT33 Tokarev measures 0.125" on the bottom of the chamber.

I don't know if the CZ-52 has a stronger locking system, but it is quite different from the TT pistols. The TT uses a type of Browning lock, and the CZ uses a roller-bearing lock like the H&K P-9 and the WWII MG-42. It certainly seems to have worked well over the years. If the shooter is sensitive to muzzle blast, there can be problems in that area.

Is the ppsh that wwII soviet sub gun? If so, there's a .22 version that has a legal 50 round drum being offered at marstar canada!:dancingbanana: I don't know of any other pistols in that caliber ... Although, a fast firing/ competition style pistol in that caliber would be a joy - if each shell had magnesium,+etc: "I proclaim u skittle cannon - taste the rainbow!" (Imagine a blank firing one on the 1st/ 4th of July....

I'm on it! Say, do you also get premium federal 6.5x55? Or know of anyone who manufactures a stronger load like in Europe? I'm just beginning to reload, but apart from the regular 140grain feds, I dislike the winchestor's that my local outfitters sell. Cheers. Thanks again for the speedy transaction. Thomas.

I had a CZ52 for a while and sold it for around $350 with 1800 rounds of past its best before Czech surplus SMG ammo. They are OK but the firing pin is cast and will break with dry firing. I found the lack of a slidelock lever a bit of a pain. There is a makarov.com site that sells after market firing pins and slidelock levers. The muzzle blast is something to behold and takedown is a bit of a #####.

The Tokerov is very much stronger then the 52, and the 52 doesn't lock, its only a deleayed blowback. If you run that nice hot smg ammo long enough you'll break the 52. The tok is pretty much indestructible, short of reloading with C4 instead of powder.

If the slide either 1, stops locking back, or 2 locks back and wont release, the silde stop runns under the left side grip panel and any dirt or goey oil will lock it up (won't release the slide) or down (wont lockit open)

I like the pistol, but i HATE the way the trigger kicks when it re sets, makes my finger sore in half a box. Worse then an AK trigger in that regard.
